THE MIND BENDER
NO LONGER REQUIRES CENTRAL SCHEDULING

There are now FIVE private "rooms' along with a "WAITING ROOM" to see who is available or to show others that you are available.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:
(and, incidentally, the PASSWORD is in the body of information below)

1. ALWAYS meet in the WAITING ROOM even if you make an apointment with other players. Use HISTORY to see who is in the waiting room a few minutes prior to the hour.

A. Please try to begin all MIND BENDER games ON THE HOUR in order to include as many players as possible (5 or 6 is a nice number).

2. Each of the 5 rooms are for a particular time of day
(this is to increase the chances of meeting):

a. MORNING (9AM MST)
b. NOON (NOON MST)
c. EVENING (6PM MST)
d. NIGHT 9 (9PM MST)
e. NIGHT OWL (10PM MST, 11PM, MIDNIGHT, and NIGHT OWLS)

SO, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS:

1) agree to meet other players at a paticular private room,
THE PASSWORD FOR EVERY MB ROOM IS THE SAME: MINDBEND
2) Meet in the WAITING ROOM by playing a few hands so they know you are there
(play ONLY in the WAITING ROOM in order to keep your PRIVATE ROOM scores at zero until your LIVE tournament).
3) Go to the PRIVATE ROOM and log in,
4) INTRODUCE YOURSELVES thru INTERNAL MAIL
YOU MUST KNOW HOW TO RELOAD (explained below)
5) Begin playing the initial 5 hands on the hour
6)STOP after the 5th hand
7) Establish your betting order
8) Everyone sends their intended bets to EVERYONE in the game
9) Play your hand - keeping track of your cards.
10) Repeat by again telling everyone your next bet.

If you don't receive a communication from one of the players for more than 3 or 4 minutes, continue on as they may have crashed or failed to RELOAD and aren't receiving your communication.

MIND BENDER RULES

I. You will be given an initial 5,000 credits that will not be replenished if you lose them, and compete only with those at your table in REAL TIME. There may be other tables operating at the same time due to special scheduling.

II. Everyone at the table plays the first 5 hands on their own. Try to keep together. It is a disadvantage to play ahead of the others (they then know how heavy to bet).

III. THE LAST 5 HANDS (hands 6 thru 10) shall be BET IN ORDER and played ONLY AFTER everyone at the table must first tell EVERYONE else in the game HOW MUCH will be bet on the next hand.

A. Do this through your INTERNAL MAIL system (explained below). By hitting your BACK BUTTON after sending each message, you need to only change the USER NAME of the addressee. Without rewriting your message, you can send everyone a duplicate.

B. When everyone has received everyone's bet, the next hand may be played.

C. The player in the highest position bets first (1 goes before 2).

D. Only after EVERYONE has provided EVERYONE at the table with the amount of their bet may the hand then be played. BUT don't wait more than 3 or 4 minutes for a response as it means that someone crashed or failed to hit their RELOAD button and there is a lost communication and you could wait all night. Sorry, but I haven't figured out a good backup system yet - let me know if you do.

IV. Keep track of all your cards so that you can provide them to everyone after playing your hand. The point of the MIND BENDER is to critique the way the last 5 hands are played.

[I keep a record by selecting and then making a copy of everything which I then paste onto a letter in my email].

This is NOT a game to be rushed.
a. Take your time and look at everyone's hand.
b. Check how much money the others have to bet.
c. Check their position in relation to yours.
d. Determine your strategy by figuring out the amount each person SHOULD bet by determining all possible consequences.

A critique of strategy is the point of the game.
Send your final critique to Shel@blackjacktime.com or to Shel by INTERNAL MAIL.
